Approximate irrigation requirement for a TWO FOOT root zone P P :

Note: About 70% of plant uptake occurs at the 0-12" depth.

0 : Assumption is that about 50% of the available water content is depleted at the time of irrigation in the 06" depth of the root zone of a uniform soil.

0 P : Includes a 10% leaching requirement and assumes a 70% irrigation efficiency.

NOTE: as a general rule of thumb, a two-inch irrigation is considered a high irrigation efficiency (i.e., assuming irrigation is uniformly applied across the entire field).

NOTE: Refer to the APPROXIMATE WATER HOLDING CAPACITY GUIDE for further information
